British heavy metal veterans Mythra are readying themselves for a typically brutal assault on 2017 after revealing new album Still Burning is ready to roll.
Released via High Roller Records and building on the success of last year’s Warriors Of Time: The Anthology, the latest chapter in the NWOBHM pioneers’ gripping story looks set to run and run.
“It’s the first time the band has gone into the studio and recorded a complete album all in one go,” said vocalist Vince High. “We flew out to Poland in October 2016 to work with Bart Gabriel as producer. It was a superb experience and we all had a great time working with him.
“We were totally blown away when High Roller Records signed us to record the album and cannot thank them enough. Their support has been incredible! We intended to stay true to our NWOBHM roots and achieved our goal.
“The 11 tracks have tons of power and energy, twin lead guitar breaks, driving bass, thunderous drums and big choruses – everything fans would expect from a Mythra album.” The album’s cover artwork was painted by Roberto Toderico – an Italian artist known for his previous collaboration with Mythra as well as Tygers Of Pan Tang and Quartz.
Metallica-endorsed Mythra’s reunion was a major event for NWOBHM fans around the globe.
Their legendary first recording from 1979 – The Death And Destiny EP – attained cult status and stands alongside Iron Maiden’s The Soundhouse Tapes as a genre standard.
Still Burning is released on vinyl, CD and download on April 28.
