Rising blues star Sari Schorr will return to the UK this spring after announcing a slew of headline and festival dates on the back of critically acclaimed long player A Force Of Nature.

The September 2016 release featured guest performances by Walter Trout and Oli Brown and went down a storm when debuted live last year.

“We’re really looking forward to coming back to the UK to perform songs from the new album to our lovely British blues fans,” said Schorr. “British blues audiences are the best – they’re passionate about their music.”

Sari Schorr and The Engine Room features guitarist Innes Sibun (Robert Plant), keyboardist Anders Olinder (Peter Gabriel, Glenn Hughes, PP Arnold), bassist Kevin Jeffries (Mike Oldfield, Roger Taylor, Steve Harley) and Kevin O’Rourke (drums).

“The Engine Room truly is a remarkable band,” she added. “Something magical happens when we’re on stage together. We’re fuelled further by the audience’s reaction and everything’s possible. I love touring and enjoy the privilege of meeting so many like-minded people who share our love of the blues.

“My songs are rooted in the blues and honouring that long tradition is important to me.

“My songwriting draws heavily on contrasting melodic hooks with aching harmonies. I spend a lot of time working over and rewriting my lyrics.

“I rely heavily on imagery and enjoy using double-entendres that are entertaining to those who catch them.

“My influences are many and various and include Son House, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Lead Belly, Bessie Smith, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Freddie King, Robert Johnson, B.B. King, Peter Green, Robert Plant, Martha Velez and Bob Dylan.”
