Jennie-Ann Smith has described the brand new Avatarium album as an ‘emotional rollercoaster’ with the band’s latest epic set for release this summer.
Hurricanes And Halos will drop on May 26 via Nuclear Blast and features eight doom-laden slabs of modern metal.
“Recording Hurricanes And Halos has truly been an emotional roller coaster for me and I do think that has contributed to a pure and vibrating energy on the album,” said Smith.
“I am deeply proud of what we have achieved together.”
Candlemass legend Leif Edling contributed six of the brand new tracks mixing Avatarium’s trademark heavy blues and doom with a brand new soundscape.
Guitarist Marcus Jidell added: “It feels like the two previous albums and the EPs led us to this one. It’s been a natural flow to where we are today, musically and emotionally.”
The new album was produced by Jidell while David Castillo (Katatonia, Bloodbath, Opeth) recorded and mixed it in the famous Ghost Ward Studios. Mastering was completed by Jens Bogren (Soilwork, Sepultura).
