All this week we’re focusing on the must-see bands at the 2017 Ramblin’ Man Fair and this morning we feature the mighty Massive.

Date: Sunday July 30

Time: 5.50pm-6.30pm

Stage: Rising Stage

Don’t miss: Ghost – Massive frontman Brad Marr always delivers on what has become a rousing live favourite for the fast-rising Aussies. A superb snapshot of what this brilliant young band is capable of and more than capable of winning new converts to the quartet’s worthy cause.

Latest album: Destination Somewhere (2016)

Star Man: Marr might be a pocket rocket marvel with the craic and the stagecraft to match but drummer Jarrod Medwin might just steal the Ramblin’ Man show. Looks like a rock star and plays like one – his full throttle approach to Massive’s rock and roll rhythms is what live music’s all about.

What we said: Marr and his mates are naturals. Turn on the lights, turn up the volume (which all four were keen to do) and this frantic four-piece is in its element. Lead guitarist Ben Laguda – back in the band after a brief absence – looked happier than most as he mixed crisp solos with increasingly endearing pleas for a pint. It’s difficult to recall a moment when the riff lord wasn’t wearing a smile as wide as the Yarra (live review, July 2017).
