Fresh from Sunday’s packed Blues Stage show at the 2017 Ramblin’ Man Fair, it seems The Quireboys’ new sound has captured the imagination of fans across Europe.
The band’s Leaving Trunk EP has landed at number two in the UK’s iTunes blues chart. And the taster for next month’s White Trash Blues album is anchored at number three in Germany’s iTunes blues chart.
Sunday’s stunning covers set went head to head with main stage favourites UFO on Sunday but The Quireboys still managed to pack the Blues Stage tent prior to headliner Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
And frontman Spike said: “We were bowled over by the reaction and it was a brilliant show. It was a big ask to record a new blues album and rehearse a full covers set in what was a very short space of time. But we pulled it off – and we loved it!”
The Leaving Trunk EP has entered the Top 75 in both Ireland and Norway’s iTunes blues charts. And it’s not just in Europe that the release is causing a stir. Australian fans have propelled the catchy cover into the Top 20.
White Trash Blues is out next month on various formats with the limited edition vinyl pre-order already selling out fast.
