Rock’s relationship with wrestling grows ever stronger and HRH Mag’s king of the wring Andy Spoors will be wrapping up the best of Saturday’s NXT action from Download…
With an unbelievable mix of rock acts already guaranteed to ensure this year’s Download festivities live long in the memory, the addition of some of the planet’s best in-ring entertainers proves there really is something for everyone at Castle Donington.
Everywhere you look across the weekend it’s is easy to see why Andy Copping is so keen to keep an increasingly fruitful relationship alive. From famous fans to soundtrack contributions, bands up and down the bill have strong connections to wrestling.
The Struts, Marmozets, Avenged Sevenfold, Babymetal and Asking Alexandria are just some of the contributors to those NXT events gracing the stage.
And with the NXT roster arguably in better shape than ever, expect to see legions of grapple fans flood the hallowed grounds of Donington Park.
Those heading inside the tent will get to see superstars such as NXT Champion and metal fan Aleister Black, the charismatic Velveteen Dream, Nikki Cross, Undisputed ERA, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler, Ricochet and Kairi Sane. Festival-goers will also get the opportunity to meet their favourites during a series of autograph signings.
Download’s feature matches take place a week before WWE puts on their second UK Championship tournament at the Royal Albert Hall. With 16 of the best talents in the UK and America vying for a shot at champ Pete Dunne, Download will play host to the opening round of matches.
For the NXT stars, rivalries could spill over just a week ahead of NXT Takeover: Chicago II as was seen last year when Dunne tried rushing the stage of Mark Andrews as he performed with his band Junior.
Last year saw the NXT tent packed out for every performance over all three days so be sure to get their early for a ringside seat to British wrestling history.
