Taking place at Prestatyn Presthaven Sands Holiday Park in Wales, Hard Rock Hell AOR 2019 is a completely sold out show and has been for months, but for the sceptics out there not joining us this year, let me tell you why.
This isn’t just any AOR festival, this is HRH AOR, and for those in the know, that means that there is something for everybody here and is not just the light and airy sound that we may think of when the term AOR is used. The line-up this year is diverse in sound and performance, with a few surprises to keep us all on our toes. AOR VII is rammed to the hilt with new and established bands and artists and has plenty of legends and icons thrown in for good measure. For those lucky enough to be in possession of VIP tickets or having bolted on the additional night, the weekend kicks off on Thursday 14th March at 6:30pm.
A 4-band affair, Thursday brings starts the party with The New Breed starting the festivities and including rock with a touch of sleaze from Knock Out Kaine, classic rock from the legendary Mr Dave Bickler of Survivor fame, and closes with HRH AOR favourites Tyketto. Danny Vaughan, Chris Green, Ged Rylands and the boys return to headline the stage and we know that they will bring the house down, ending night one on a very high note with plenty of audience participation no doubt.
For the brave hellions in recovery from the night before, or if you are you just joining us, Epic start the party in Stage 1 while over in Stage 2 Silent Jack will definitely blow any stubborn cobwebs away!
Whether you choose Stage 1 or 2, or float between both, the highlights are many. For your viewing and aural pleasure, hit the app store on your mobile to download the HRH BIBLE App and you will be able to access the full line up and plan your weekend around the acts that you don’t want to miss, or, for those who are looking to check out some new sounds, this is the perfect place to get your clash finder ready for the next 2 days of top class music.
Friday is brimming with harmony and melody galore with the likes of Romeo’s Daughter, The Radio Sun, Vega and Kiss the Gun. A little heavier but losing none of the melodic draw, Fahran, Tomorrow Is Lost, Corvus, Burnt Out Wreck, The Brink and Black Star Bullet.
Stage 1 closes with a hattrick of legends. Jizzy Pearl’s LOVE/HATE brings us a hefty dose of high octane rock’n’roll all the way from Los Angeles. With Toby Jepson and his Wayward Sons to follow with all of their harmonies and hard rock, making the penultimate a perfect segue into the headline act.
The mighty UFO will take stage 1 by storm. Still at the top of their game after more than 40 years, the boys are ready to rock you. We guarantee you won’t need no Doctor Doctor, or hit Rock Bottom. And we here at HRH MAG are sure you will agree, that only UFO can rock you rock you…“You ain’t with us, then it’s just bad news…..”
For Dark Circle members, VIP and Royalty, the music continues with an after-show shindig, but don’t party too hearty guys, Saturday is yet to come.
Throwing a little bit of sleaze, punk rock, blues, glam and funk into the AOR mix, Saturday has an eclectic line up with some huge crowd pleasers, HRH Fan Favourites and again, brings us time served icons, from the heady days of hairspray and leather.
Straight out of the barrel, is Psycho Kiss and Sykko Dollz on stages 1 and 2 respectively. So should you want some heavy riffs or a little sleaze with your eye opener, you know which way to turn.
Heavy and melodic is the order of the day with Daylight Robbery, Saints of Sin, The Wicked Jackals, Bai Bang, Wrath, Damn Dice and the multi layered harmonious vocals of the KANE’D sisters.
