Legendary metal queen Lita Ford has paid tribute to fangirl Lzzy Hale and admitted she’s humbled to see the next generation of female rock stars follow her lead.

Ford and her band mates blazed a trail for women in rock 40 years ago when riotous all-girl band The Runaways burst onto the scene.

And in an exclusive chat with HRH Mag the singer songwriter described the support of Hale and her peers as an ‘honour’.

“I mean Lzzy is phenomenal – she is a huge Lita fan and she is proud of that,” said Ford.

“You know she is very respectful and she is just not afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve and be honest about what she thinks.

“She brings out the white double neck and Explorer guitars and it’s just an honour for me to have someone like Lzzy following in my footsteps.

“Every time I see her out on the road with Halestorm I am very proud of her.”

Ford delivered a killer headline set at HRH AOR V earlier this year – vowing to return to the UK in 2018.
