Nora Forster, wife of Public Image Ltd and Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon – has sadly passed away. Rambo of PiL took to social media this afternoon to pass on condolences to Lydon with the following statement:
It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that Nora Forster – John Lydon’s wife of nearly 5 decades – has passed away. Nora had been living with Alzheimer’s for several years. In which time John had become her full time carer.
Please respect John’s grief and allow him space.

Nora was a German publishing heiress, former actress and model, and was best known as a music promoter, working with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Wishbone Ash and Yes – to name a few. After meeting Lydon at Vivienne Westwood’s infamous fashion store, SEX, in 1975 – they married in 1979 in Düsseldorf.
John became a primary carer for Nora after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2018.
