About the Single –

The reason for the release of the video single track that is entitled Social Witch Hunt was purely down to two factors, the first one was that we had not released anything since 2020 which was our third album Origin of the Lugubrious, the second one was that we found ourselves working in the same studio we did Origin of the Lugubrious but this time with new producer Andy Dawson (Savage and Blackshine) fame at the helm and it was basically an experiment to see if we could gel and work together in light of our fourth album which is over half way written. Needless to say, the end product has worked out fantastic. Andy does more than just twiddle the knobs, he gets involved in the performance and gives that little push and contributes to ideas to really get the best out of the band. We think he captured the vibe of the band exceptionally well on this and we believe that this is our best recording to date. The track itself is quite different for us, it is very driving and has a good flow to it and has an infectious groove to it that is quite catchy in it’s delivery. Between ourselves and Andy, we nailed the raw live energy of the band as you listen to it rip through your speakers like a juggernaut loaded with ballistic missiles!!  The video was done by Hot Frog Animation who did a video for a track for Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons which is really cool also. We are extremely happy with the way this has turned out. Ash is a great guy to work with.

What is the track about? –

Lyrically the track is about how disgusting humanity can be towards one another in essence. It was initially spawned from the tiresome damaging comments made towards individuals and various subject matters that will remain anonymous that I was sick of reading about through social media. Obviously all of the self made messiahs that preach and spread their propaganda to their little disciples / Minions/ followers / bandwagon jumpers and the likes. The opposition never being allowed to voice any opinions that may go against the grain in case they face a public berating for freedom of speech. The fact that humanity has forgotten how to celebrate one another’s opinions and move on seems to have faded away and appears to be replaced by those who are full of self importance which also spew the none condoning of bullying and harassment but are actually in fact the bullies and harasses themselves with which, are intent on destroying the very thing they created without realisation because of their pure pig headed narcissism. But, also the track has another deeper level that applies to what’s going on behind the scenes of the government’s and that there are darker forces at hand. It’s all in there really. The saying of people who live in glass houses should never throw stones has never been truer. Basically, everyone’s shit stinks and the track will hopefully raise awareness for humanity to stop and take a deeper look at itself as no one is greater than any one being. We all make mistakes in life. There is no such thing as a perfectly pure soul that has lived or living a life and no one has the rights to tell you how to live it. So put your ego back in it’s box! If you’re easily offended then switch the channel. Haha!!!

What is next for the band? –

We have a few lives dates for this year and will be back on the road in April. The new album which has a working title of “Posthumous Resurrection ” should be pretty much written by then and we will be looking to start recording by the middle to the end of this year (2023)
